August Public is a New York–based organizational development consultancy that works with for-profit companies to build stronger, more human-centered teams. With a focus on agile transformation, August helps clients redesign how they work — from the inside out.

Internally, though, their own sales systems were starting to feel disjointed. Sales data lived in HubSpot, but team visibility was limited. Tracking goals, reviewing performance, or collaborating on deals required jumping between tools — or relying on manual updates that were quickly outdated.

They came to us with a clear goal: bring sales visibility into their daily workflows using a Notion-based system, powered by automation.

The Challenge

August’s team needed a way to stay aligned on sales performance and pipeline activity — without adding more tools or overhead.

1. Disconnected tools

HubSpot held all the deal data, but it wasn’t easy to access in real-time or in a format useful for collaboration.

2. Manual processes

Reporting and goal tracking required copying data or chasing updates — which led to delays and inconsistencies.

3. Lack of a central hub

There was no single place where the team could track leads, check progress, and make informed sales decisions together.

The Solution

We started by mapping out the sales process with August’s team — identifying what needed to be visible, who needed access, and where collaboration was falling through.

A centralized sales workspace in Notion

We built a custom Notion workspace that mirrored August’s sales workflow. It included areas for lead tracking, CRM activity, goals, and performance metrics. The result was a single source of truth for the entire sales team — designed to be simple, structured, and easy to maintain.

Automation with Make + HubSpot

To eliminate the need for manual updates, we connected Notion to HubSpot using Make (formerly Integromat). Every day, the system automatically pulls new data from HubSpot, transforms it, and displays it in the Notion workspace. This keeps the pipeline fresh and accurate without extra work.

We also added smart automations for:

  • Deal updates
  • Sales goal tracking
  • Pipeline health notifications
  • Error handling and alerting
